The Erasmus+ ARTFORWARD Project empowers secondary school students by integrating sustainable practices into the creative industries. Through diverse modules and strategic partnerships, we provide students with the skills and awareness needed to lead in sustainable art, architecture, and fashion design.

ARTFORWARD has equipped numerous students with essential practical skills and insights, transforming them into advocates for sustainability in their communities and the creative industries.

Project Summary

Art Forward

The ARTFORWARD project aims to foster sustainability in the creative industries by providing secondary school students with education and practical experience in sustainable art, architecture and fashion design. Through innovative learning modules, partnerships with sustainable businesses, awareness campaigns, and digital tools, ARTFORWARD will empower students to become leaders in sustainable creativity. ARTFORWARD will contribute to a greener, more innovative future for the society as a whole. The overall aim of the ARTFORWARD project is to accelerate a change toward sustainable practices in art, fashion, and design, in line with the European Union’s objective to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 and supporting innovation and competitiveness. It aims to contribute to the EU’s broader goals by encouraging students and businesses to embrace eco-friendly practices and investigate alternatives to traditional production methods. The project has been coordinated by Liceo Artistico Chierici from Reggio Emilia (Italy), in partnership with other European partners from France, Denmark and Türkiye, is expected to contribute to local, regional, national and international stakeholders with a great exchange of experiences and outcomes.

Project Activities

Art Forward

The project will implement the following activities:
1) Development of educational modules on sustainable art, architecture and fashion design;
2) Masterclass academy with sustainable start-ups, enterprises and innovation hubs in the creative industries;
3) Traineeships and internships for students in sustainable businesses;
4) Awareness campaigns activities, including workshops, seminars, conferences, to educate the public about sustainablepractices in art, architecture and fashion design.

 

Project Results

The ARTFORWARD project aims to develop learning modules on sustainable art, architecture and fashion design for schools that can serve as a replicable model for other educational institutions to innovate their teaching methodologies, enhance students’ skills, showcase innovative sustainability projects, provide traineeships in sustainable businesses, raise awareness of sustainability, and foster a long-term culture of eco-friendly practices in the art, architecture and fashion design sectors.
